Who we are

This website, thedigitaldaydream.com, is run by Oak Tree Publications Limited, trading as The Digital Day Dream. We are the "controller" of the personal information described here, which means we decide how and why it is used.

Company name: Oak Tree Publications Limited Company number: 17035498 registered in England and Wales Registered office: 124 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX Email: hello@thedigitaldaydream.com ICO registration number: 00014597687

This policy explains what we collect when you visit the site, use the chat assistant, fill in the questionnaire or ask us to contact you, and what we do with it.

What information we collect

We only collect what you choose to give us, plus a small amount of technical data needed to keep the site working and safe.

Chat messages. Whatever you type to the AI assistant, and the earlier messages in the same conversation. Conversations are saved for up to 90 days.

Contact details. If you ask us to contact you through the chat or the questionnaire: your name, your email address and/or phone number, and optionally your website address. If you use the chat, a copy of the recent conversation is included so we know what you asked about.

Questionnaire answers. The choices and short notes you give in the questionnaire at the bottom of the homepage.

Bookings. If you book a discovery call through our booking page, the name, email, phone number and any notes you enter there.

Emails and calls. Anything you send us by email, and any details you give us on a call.

Technical data. Your IP address and basic browser information, used by our hosting provider and by the bot check on the chat to block automated abuse.

We do not ask for payment details, passwords or sensitive information (such as health details), and we ask you not to share them in the chat.

How we use it and why

UK data protection law says we need a lawful reason for each use of your information. These are ours.

The AI assistant

The chat on this site is an AI assistant, not a person. It can make mistakes, and what it says is not a quote, a promise or professional advice.

How it works. Your messages are sent to Anthropic, the company behind the Claude AI model, so it can write a reply. Anthropic handles that data under its own terms and privacy policy.

What we keep. Conversations are saved with our hosting provider, Cloudflare, for up to 90 days and then deleted automatically. We use them to see how the assistant is working and to improve it. We do not save your IP address with a conversation, and we do not store your name or email with it unless you type them into the chat yourself.

Contact form. If you fill in the contact form inside the chat, your details and the recent conversation are also emailed to us so we can follow up. Those emails stay in our email system.

Bot check. Before a message is sent, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are a real visitor. It uses browser and device signals and your IP address. See Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

Please do not share personal details in the chat beyond what you are happy for us to receive, because conversations are saved for up to 90 days.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted services to run the site. They only receive what they need to do their job, and we do not sell your information to anyone.

Anthropic Writes the AI assistant's replies Your chat messages
Cloudflare Hosts the website, runs the Turnstile bot check and stores saved chat conversations IP address, browser data, page requests, saved chat conversations

Some of these services are based in, or process data in, countries outside the UK, including the United States. Where that happens we rely on safeguards that UK law accepts, such as the UK-US data bridge or the UK addendum to the standard contractual clauses, where they apply.

We may also share information with our accountants or legal advisers, or where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as we need it. The periods in square brackets are suggestions for you to confirm or change before publishing.

Information How long
Saved chat conversations 90 days, then deleted automatically
Enquiries (chat form, questionnaire, email) that do not lead to work 12 months, then deleted
Records of clients and the work we do for them 6 years after the work ends, for tax and accounting rules

The other services we use keep information under their own policies. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
  • delete your information
  • limit how we use it, or stop using it for something you object to
  • send your information to you or another organisation in a usable format
  • stop contacting you, by withdrawing the consent you gave us

Email hello@thedigitaldaydream.com to use any of these rights. We will reply within one month. You do not have to pay a fee, and we may ask you to confirm who you are.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies, children and changes

Cookies. This site does not use analytics or advertising cookies. The chat keeps your conversation on the page only, not in cookies or browser storage. The Cloudflare Turnstile bot check and the Cal.com booking page may use cookies or similar technology to work. If we add analytics later, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Children. This site is for businesses and is not aimed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes. We will update this page if the way we use information changes. Last updated: 14 October 2026.
